Headteacher's Welcome

This truly remarkable school has been providing the highest quality of holistic education to girls for over a century. Its long history of Catholic tradition and founding on the values of St Claudine Thevenet ensure that every child is seen as special, unique and a gift from God. St Claudine’s life work was to care for, nurture and educate children. She established the Religious of Jesus and Mary houses and schools which has led to the current education of children in 28 different countries. Here in England there are just three Convent of Jesus and Mary schools; an independent college in Thornton and an infant and secondary girls’ school here, in Willesden.

We are therefore uniquely placed and this is what makes our school so special and different to many others. We place as much emphasis on the pastoral care and faith development of the child as we do on academic excellence. Our school, first and foremost, is a family; we are a family of faith. Staff have true pastoral hearts and take time to ensure every child is known, their strengths supported and development needs overcome. Our girls are happy and safe in the knowledge that we are watching over them, guiding them and walking alongside them as they make their journey through secondary education.

Classroom learning is supplemented by a wide range of co-curricular opportunities and a diverse programme of educational visits both in the UK and across Europe supporting the girls in their language development and extending their cultural awareness. We have very high expectations of discipline and conduct. Girls are taught the importance of respect and good manners. They give their best every day striving towards our school mission: ‘With God’s grace, we excel and lead’. We are just as proud of our girls who achieve excellence having overcome challenges, as we are proud of those offered places at Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group universities. Every achievement of every child is a reason to celebrate.

I warmly invite you to come and join us in our mission. Our school and its values are universal and we welcome children and families of all faiths and none. Come and experience for yourself this very special place of immense beauty and deepest faith.

We look forward to meeting you.
